Thanks to a little spring cleaning, Throwback Thursday features this beauty, the Mac PowerBook 170, boasting a 25 MHz 68030 processor, 4 MB of RAM, an internal 1.44 MB floppy drive, and a 10” monochrome monitor.
In 1991 we thought we would never fill the massive 40 MB hard drive. Today that will barely hold a handful of selfies.
At 2.25” it’s a bit fatter than today’s MacBook Pro, which measures less than an inch high.
And perhaps it was the blazing fast 2400 baud modem (standard) that justified the $4,600 price tag.
