Design Tip: Large Format Math

//Design Tip: Large Format Math

Want to enlarge photos to use for your trade show booth? Forget about those images you took from your website, you’ll need to start with high resolution photos. A standard high res image is 300 pixels per inch (ppi), but you can print a resolution of 100 ppi for large format printing. What does that mean, Einstein?

That means you can enlarge your high res image 300% before it starts to lose real image quality. Do the math:

A high res 8 x 10 inch photo can be enlarged a maximum of 300% producing an image 24 x 30 inches @ 100ppi, acceptable in large format printing.
